Same Heart, New Location!

Our name is our mission: To Love Chapel Hill with the heart of Jesus. We are taking steps forward in faith, following Jesus as he leads us to live into this mission in new and fresh ways. As Jesus says again, "Come, follow me." one of the first steps of this journey is into a seven-day per week location; a home-base where we will be able to better cultivate lives of discipleship and mission in the context of community. Nestled back in the woods just off of Sunrise Road on the north side of Chapel Hill, The Foundry is a place of warm welcome and peaceful retreat.

Our first service in the new space will be February 15, 2026 at 11:15 a.m. Make plans to be a part of the celebration! You can RSVP, like and share the event on Facebook.

Backstory

Love Chapel Hill has stewarded this location as a church, fostering collaboration and creativity in ministry since late 2008. In that time, The Foundry has been home to multiple church families in the early stages of development, provided space for trainings and retreats for organizations serving our community, and been a special gathering place for LCH events.

Prior to LCH in 2008, this was the home to our forerunners in ministry, Chapel Hill Wesleyan Church. Founded in 1987 and developing this facility in the early 90's, they began meeting here in 1994. The Lord has been moving here in mighty ways ever since. We're excited to come alongside and continue in the work The Lord is already doing in and through this place.

Help prepare the space

As we get ready for this new season, you can help us prepare the space we're moving into. First, please pray for our church family and the process of relocation which will allow for new and exciting opportunities to live out this mission.  Second, if you don't already have a church home, please come join us! Now or for the our first service on Feb. 15, 2026, we would be so glad to welcome you. Finally, there are a couple of ways you can give to support this move: You can give online below to help with the relocation work or take a look at our wishlist and donate any of these items.

    • Our first service in the new space at The Foundry will be Sunday, February 15, 2026 and we are so excited to invite you to join us there at 11:15am.

    • Our final Sunday service at The Varsity will be 10am, Sunday, February 1, 2026. Come celebrate with us! We will be loading the moving truck on Tuesday, February 3rd, and would love to have your help (contact Pastor Joel).

    • The Lord has invited us into a new season at Love Chapel Hill and we are following in faithful obedience. One of the first things that has become evident is that we are in a stage where having access to a 7-day a week home base location will help us to better live out this mission.  Discipleship and mission in community happens best when we are in close proximity, doing life together. We are excited for the new opportunities The Foundry will bring.
    • 11:15 a.m. is our new service time which is really important for a few reasons. It will allow us to continue serving downtown Chapel Hill with coffee and bagels as we have been for many years, and invite those we serve to come with us to The Foundry at the later service time.  The later time also allows us the opportunity to flow into a shared community lunch meal on a more regular basis. Additionally, we are sharing the location with our friends at LifeChurch who will be meeting earlier on Sundays, and this time allows both church families to gather in this special space.
    • The Foundry is located at 7326 Sunrise Road, Chapel Hill. (Map Directions Here). It’s just 6 miles from downtown and UNC’s campus, right between Chapel Hill and Durham. It allows us a dedicated 7-day a week location, tucked back in a beautiful, natural setting that feels like a distant wooded retreat, close and convenient.
    • Every parking spot is a good one, right out front of The Foundry. You can pull right up to the front door, and there are dedicated spots just feet away for anyone with mobility difficulties or other special needs. Just follow our winding driveway off of Sunrise Road and you’ll find us tucked back in the trees!

    • If you need a ride, just like always, you can get a ride with Miss Penny (our church van). Just call 919-960-1584 before 8:30 a.m. and leave a message with your name, number and pickup location within the Chapel Hill-Carrboro area. Pickup times are currently between 9 and 9:45 a.m. You’ll receive a call or text from the driver when the van is on its way to you.

    • The Foundry is and has been a space where our church fosters a center for collaboration and creativity in ministry. Currently, our friends at LifeChurch meet here regularly for worship and fellowship, as well as our friends at Bible Baptist Church (a local Burmese congregation).
