Love Chapel Hill Family,
As new information emerges and expert guidelines shift, we want to continue to respond with love and wisdom. So, in line with the latest guidelines, we are suspending The Story, Wednesday Morning Prayer Meeting, and other small groups that gather in restaurants or public places. We will let you know when this changes.
We encourage all of our small groups to do the same. Please use caution and act with compassion towards others around you during this time. It's not only about what is the safest action for you. But it is considering the needs of others and putting them first. All of the experts agree that taking bold measures now is the best path towards slowing the spread of the Coronavirus. Let's continue to be a part of the solution.
I challenged us through the message on Sunday to lean into community during this time. That challenge still stands. We'll just need to unleash our creativity in how we accomplish it. Ask the Holy Spirit to inspire you in how to care for and connect with each other. Text, email, call, FaceTime. Let's do what we have to do to remain one.
In times of disruption, The Church is at her best. I am confident we will see that again. In fact, I've already seen it in the college student who offered to provide childcare for a family in need. In one young couple who offered to share eggs from their backyard chicken coop and another who is organizing grocery pick up for people who can't go out. In the leaders who are buying gift cards from our local businesses, donating food and money to TABLE, and hustling to activate a website to mobilize the broader faith community in prayer.
I have this prayer that keeps running through my mind and heart for you. Along with praying for your peace and safety, I am praying that you will remember that you are loved. But even more, that you are Love. Thank you for the way you live our that name.
