Sunday Mornings

Sundays are the primary day that LCHkids gather to worship, learn from Scripture, pray, and play together. Our classrooms provide fun, safe, and engaging environments. We provide unique classroom experiences for Infant (age 3 months) to Grade 5. We offer care for infants through age 3 for the length of the entire gathering (10AM-11:30).  Pre-K through Grade 5 participate in the first part of our worship with the entire church, before being dismissed to their class to fellowship and dive into Scripture in an engaging way.

What to expect

Upstairs, where our children’s ministry is located, our babies are in a dedicated nursery space, where we have age-appropriate toys and equipment. Our big kids are also upstairs, where we have dividing walls to create their own space. Only parents/guardians and volunteers are allowed through the walls for drop-off or pick-up during the class time. Volunteers are familiar with parents and guardians and meet new families so as to make sure only those permitted are in the kids spaces. In addition, children and parents having corresponding name tags given at drop-off and must match for pick-up. For the safety of our babies, children and volunteers, there are no fewer than two volunteers with children in each class at all times.

We begin the morning with a secure check-in at our LCHkids check-in station located in the main lobby. All of our children (age 3mon-10yrs) gather upstairs during the service. If this is your child’s first time with us, we ask that you please fill out our personal info form so that we can contact you in the case of an emergency. Please also check-in at the station and receive a name tag for your child and a corresponding name tag for yourself to show upon pick-up.

Nursery Littles

Our nursery babies (3 months - 3 years) begin the morning upstairs. After check-in, you'll bring your little one to the nursery before heading to the service in the main theatre. At this stage we allow for play, both guided and unguided, a coloring activity (if age-appropriate), snack time, music and social connection.

The Big Kids

Our big kids (4 years - 5th grade) start out in service with their families. They are dismissed part-way through the praise and worship time to head to their class, accompanied by class teachers. We begin with play stations that engage them in the material as they play (learning through play), we go through our Bible story for the day in addition to a short video. We have a snack time, engage in games and activities, and fellowship as we grow in our faith and pursuit of following Jesus.

It is important to us to have a dedicated and diverse group of volunteers. They each share their own experience of Jesus Christ with our children, a true picture of what the Kingdom is like. We strive to create a fun, safe, loving and engaging environment for all. We know that each child is unique and has unique needs. We strive to learn those needs in order to best serve you and your family. All of our volunteers go through a background check for the safety of our LCHkids and families.

We are currently using David C. Cook’s WonderINK curriculum.
