Friends, as we step into the season of Lent, beginning on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 22, we are doing something a little different. We're entering a focused season of reading Scripture in common using a method called "Lectio Divina." This process, dating back to the 6th Century, is a simple, yet profound, way of letting the Living Word speak to us through four basic steps - read, meditate, pray, and contemplate. We pray that this study will help each of us live in the Image of God and see that sacred image in one another. This is a resource established by a special committee on Race & Religion within the United Methodist Church. While we are not affiliated with the United Methodist Church, we appreciate the approach taken in this resource to consider Diversity, Equity and Inclusion by reading the Biblical Text.
